Region 98 will be holding tryouts for a 13U Girls EXTRA team on June 6 & 8 at Live Oak Park.  AYSO EXTRA is an elevated “club” circuit controlled by AYSO and volunteers, offering children the opportunity to play with the same team year-round against similar AYSO EXTRA teams throughout Southern California.

EXTRA is designed to provide a more challenging level of play for those players who possess the appropriate interest, skills and abilities and to enhance each player's experience and individual growth through the game of soccer while retaining the spirit and organization of AYSO.

• Registration for tryouts is through your account on www.ayso98.org. Go to “My Account” and next to your child’s account, you will see “Programs Available.”  Click on that and select “2023 Fall EXTRA Competitive Soccer” and proceed to complete the registration.
• Girls who are in the age divisions of 12U - 13U are eligible to try out (birth years between 2011 - 2012).  Please contact Owen Hou, Regional Commissioner, if you have an interested 11U player (2013 birth year).
• Tryouts will be held on 6/6/2023 and 6/8/2023 at Live Oak Park at 7pm.
• If selected for a team, cost will be around $500 to $600 for the season (still working out the details).  The full program fee must be paid by July 15.
• Players must register in order to attend tryouts.
• Notifications will be sent out to confirm tryouts for each division.

Every interested player must register for the 2023 Fall EXTRA Competitive Soccer season prior to the tryouts.  There is no fee to register for the tryouts but you do have to pay the $20 AYSO National fee if you have not registered for the 2023 Fall Core season.  Selected players will be “accepted” into the EXTRA program and will be billed at the time.   For additional questions please contact Regional Commissioner, Owen Hou, at [email protected].
